Nigerian Army Strengthens Ties with Civilian Populace through COAS Intervention Projects

The Nigerian Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has reaffirmed Army’s commitment to fostering public support and cooperation through the COAS Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Projects.
According to Captain Olusegun Abidoye, Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, these projects remain a cornerstone of the Army’s efforts to promote harmonious relationships with the civilian populace.
At the commissioning ceremony of the COAS community-based intervention projects in Zaria, Lt. Gen. Oluyede, represented by Major General Abdul Ibrahim, highlighted the significance of these projects in complementing the government’s infrastructural development efforts.
The projects, executed by Major General S Nuhu, include the renovation and furnishings of classrooms, revamping of toilets, and construction of a solar-powered borehole at Nuhu Bamali Primary School.
Lt. Gen. Oluyede expressed gratitude to the people of Zaria for their contributions to the nation, particularly in availing the service of their sons who have risen to the rank of Major General.
He also commended Major General S Nuhu, community leaders, and the school management for their collaborative efforts in delivering these impactful projects.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including His Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamali, and senior military officers.
The COAS urged the community to take ownership of the facility and ensure its maintenance for long-term use.
This gesture underscores the Nigerian Army’s commitment to sustaining public support and cooperation through its non-kinetic lines of operation.
