NUJ Niger State Council Mourns the Passing of Hajiya Safiya Asabe Mohammed
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Niger State Council extends its heartfelt condolences to the Management and Staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Power FM Bida following the death of Hajiya Safiya Asabe Mohammed, a dedicated member of the News and Current Affairs department.
In a statement issued by Comrade Usman Chiji, the State Secretary of NUJ, the organization expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Hajiya Safiya, noting that her passing is a significant loss not only to her colleagues but to the journalism profession as a whole.
Comrade Chiji highlighted that although her departure is painful, it is a reminder that every soul has its appointed time.
Hajiya Safiya was celebrated for her unwavering dedication and professionalism, qualities that inspired her peers and younger journalists alike.

Comrade Chiji further recognized Hajiya Safiya as a role model for women in public service, emphasizing her commitment to modesty and integrity in her conduct, which aligned with the principles of Islam.
The NUJ Niger State Council specifically extended its condolences to the husband of the deceased, Malam Salihu Ibrahim, a former general manager of Power FM Bida, acknowledging the profound loss he faces.
Comrade Abu Nmodu, the State Chairman of NUJ, conveyed the collective sympathy of all journalists, praying for God’s mercy on Hajiya Safiya and for strength for her family, the staff of Power FM, and the Bida community to endure this loss.
