2023 elections: FOMWAN, INEC sensitize youths, women to collect their PVCs

Niger state chapter of the Federation of Muslims Women Associations of Nigeria (FOMWAN) has embarked on sensitisation campaign to get women and youths across the State to register and obtain permanent voters cards (PVC).
Speaking in a road walk to create more awareness for PVC collection and peaceful youth participation in 2023 general elections organized by FOMWAN in collaboration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the state Amira Hajia Kulu Abdullahi charged the INEC to ensure that those who did transfer and are having registrations have technical issues be rectified before the deadline so that they can collect their PVCs too.
She however pleaded to the electoral empire to keep carrying out awarenesses so that more eligible voters can collect their PVCs.
Furthermore, she told our Correspondent that the association noticed that the deadline for collection is getting close, hence the reason to step up efforts to achieve a massive PVC collection.
In his remarks, the State Resident Electoral Commission, INEC, Ahmed Yusha’U Garki charged eligible voters especially women and youths quickly collect their PVCs to avoid deadline rush so that they can take decision on the days of elections.
According to him “I urge you to collect your PVCs because your vote is your power to elect the leaders of your choice.
Make sure you check the policies and programs if politicians to ensure that nobody deceive you.”
He further appealled to the elderly, physically challenged in the society to also take advantage of the extension to collect their PVCs.
Project Officer, Ahmed Abdulsalam while leading the road walk said “part of our objectives is to educate the public about the electoral process and its implications on election results.
“To charge Nigerians especially the women and youths on the need to collect their PVCs and to participate actively in the forthcoming election”
