Mrs Tinubu disbursed N50m to 1,000 women traders, palliatives to vulnerable groups in Niger State
The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has disbursed N50 million grant to 1,000 women petty traders in Niger state.
Mrs Oluremi Tinubu said the grant and palliatives was under the Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Empowerment Programme.
Senator Oluremi who was represented by Hajiya Fatima Bago, Wife of Niger Governor, said that each of the women would receive N50,000 each to grow and recapitalise their businesses.
She disclosed that about N1.8 billion would be disbursed to 37,000 women petty traders as grant across the country to assist them expand their businesses and create more jobs.
“This will assist our women contribute more rubostly to our economy as economy empowerment remains Renewed Hope Initiative core obiective.
“When women thrive, their families thrive, and by extension, our communities and nation prosper, she said.
She said the Renewed Hope Initiative had been delivering on promises to women and youths across the six geopolitical zones to support President Bola Tinubu economic reforms.
In her goodwill messages, Mrs Elizabeth Shaba, Commissioner, Niger State Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs), advised the women to use money to wisely to improve their living standard.
Some of the beneficiaries, Sa’adatu Mohammed and Precious Audi, appreciated the first lady and the wife governor for the gesture and promised to use the money wisely.
Also, Usman Mohammed, from Crippled Association of Nigeria, Niger Chapter, thanked the first ladies for the palliatives, saying the food items would go a long way to support their families.
