Young Stars Football Club Wins Hukunchi Nupe Cup in Doko

Young Stars Football Club of Doko has claimed victory as champions of the Hukunchi Nupe Cup, a grassroots football tournament for teams within the Doko axis of Lavun Local Government Area, Niger State.
The final match concluded with Young Stars narrowly defeating Sparkling Stars of Doko 4–3 on penalties after a goalless draw at regulation time.
This month-long tournament was organized in honor of Hukunchi Nupe, Mohammed Ndarani, SAN, and featured fourteen teams from across the region.
Mohammed Abdullahi Evungi, Disciplinary Officer of the Local Organizing Committee, highlighted that the tournament unveiled previously unknown football talent within the area.
Furthermore, Mohammed Ndaeji, Chairman of the Coaches Association, noted notable improvements in tactical awareness among coaches and technical skills among players throughout the competition.
Coach Haruna Hashimu dedicated the trophy to the team’s supporters. Meanwhile, the runner-up’s Head Coach, Mohammed Daji, stated that the loss would motivate the team to improve.
Hukunchi Nupe Mohammed Ndarani, SAN, expressed satisfaction with the unity and active youth participation displayed during the event, considering these major successes of the tournament.
