Niger Governor Umaru Bago Flags Off APC Councils Election Campaign in Minna.

By Yahaya zakka Minna

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially launched its campaign for the upcoming council elections scheduled for November 1, 2025.

Farmer Governor Umaru Bago led the campaign kickoff in Minna, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to improving the lives of citizens at all levels. He urged the people of the state to vote for the APC candidates contesting 25 chairmanship and 274 councilorship positions, and prayed for peaceful and successful elections.

Governor Bago also encouraged APC stakeholders and supporters in the state to work diligently to ensure the party’s victory in the forthcoming council elections.

The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly and Director General of the APC State Campaign Council for the council elections, Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, stated that these elections would serve as a litmus test for the integrity, capacity, and popularity of the ruling party, assuring that the APC would emerge victorious on November 1.

Mu’azu Bawa Rijau, APC National Vice Chairman for North Central, who represented the National Chairman of the party, highlighted the significant achievements of the APC nationwide as evidence of the party’s commitment to change. He encouraged the electorate to support the APC in the council elections.

APC State Chairman Alh. Aminu Musa Bobi affirmed that the party would adhere to all electoral guidelines and accept the results of the elections. He urged party members and the general public to come out in large numbers to vote for APC candidates.

Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, called on residents of the state to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Farmer Governor Umaru Bago by voting for APC candidates to ensure continued progress and the benefits of democracy.

Former Deputy Governors of Niger State, Ahmed Musa Ibeto and Ahmed Muhammad Ketso, also voiced their support for the party, urging candidates to provide quality leadership at the grassroots level if elected.

Alh. Aminu Yusuf, Chairman of the National Population Commission, encouraged all eligible voters to back APC candidates, as their leadership would complement the Bago-led administration in the state.

Other speakers, including Ismaila Musa Danmodibo, a member of the House of Representatives for Shiroro/Rafi/Munya; Abu Gomna, a member of the State Assembly representing Bosso; and Bilaal Qasim Adebayo, the media coordinator for the farmer governor, also rallied support for the APC in their local languages.

The political campaign kickoff concluded with the presentation of APC flags to the party’s chairmanship candidates, marking the start of council election campaigns across the state.
