NIGER HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY SPEAKER EXTENDS CONDOLENCES TO ESSA COMMUNITY FOLLOWING TRAGIC TANKER EXPLOSION.
The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. (Dr.) Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, has expressed profound condolences to the people of Essa in Katcha Local Government Area following the recent tanker explosion that resulted in the loss of numerous lives and injuries to several others.
In a statement on behalf of the Leadership and Members of the 10th Assembly, the Speaker conveyed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and the entire community affected by this tragedy.
He emphasized that the Assembly stands in solidarity with those impacted by the incident, which has brought immense sorrow to the area. .
The Speaker pledged that the 10th Assembly is committed to enacting legislation aimed at preventing such catastrophic events in the future. He highlighted the importance of implementing robust measures to safeguard the lives of citizens and enhance community safety.
Additionally, Barr. Sarkin-Daji commended the swift actions taken by the Niger State Governor, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago, alongside the management and staff of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), for their prompt response and support to the affected community.
He noted that the quick intervention of NSEMA reflects the agency’s dedication to saving lives and effectively managing disaster impacts.
The tanker explosion in Essa has resulted in significant destruction and grief. The Speaker offered prayers for the souls of those who lost their lives in the incident and wished for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries.
