NIGERIA AT 65: BAGO URGES NIGERIANS TO RENEW THEIR COMMITMENT TO UNITY AND PATRIOTISM.

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, congratulates all Nigerians as the nation celebrates its 65th independence anniversary.

In a message from his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor marks Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary with the theme “All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.” He acknowledges that Nigeria has made significant strides in its journey toward nationhood.

Governor Bago emphasizes that 65 years of independence, characterized by cultural diversity, are a milestone worthy of celebration. They reflect the unity, strength, resilience, and determination of the Nigerian people.

He highlights that Nigeria is a blessed nation abundant in human, natural, and capital resources. The governor expresses hope for a brighter future as governments intensify efforts to strengthen institutions and implement reforms that will maximize the nation’s potential and improve the lives of all Nigerians.

Governor Bago commends the nation’s founders and others who have significantly contributed to maintaining its unity.

While acknowledging the various challenges facing the nation, he urges Nigerians to focus on the progress achieved so far and to renew their commitment to patriotism and selflessness, which are essential for national advancement.

He reiterates that nation-building is a collective responsibility, and calls on Nigerians to continue praying for purposeful leadership at all levels.

The governor reaffirms his support for the federal government’s Renewed Hope agenda, particularly in areas such as agriculture, infrastructure, health, education, and youth and women’s empowerment.

He reassures state residents that his administration remains dedicated to realizing the New Niger agenda, which aims to create numerous economic opportunities for better living conditions and increased safety.

“As we celebrate the 65th independence anniversary of our nation, I urge us all to reflect on the progress we have made, recognize our diversity as a strength, and renew our commitment to being united, patriotic, positive, prayerful, and hopeful for a better Nigeria,” he added.
