Police Arrest Notorious Gang Leader in Minna During Intelligence Operation.
In a decisive action against thuggery and criminal activities in Minna, Niger State, law enforcement officers successfully apprehended a key suspect during a targeted raid on August 2, 2025. The operation, led by police operatives from ‘A’ Division, took place on Stadium Road around 12:00 AM.
According to a police bulletin issued by the Police Public Relations Officer for the Niger Command, SP Abiodun Wasiu, the arrested individual, Jamilu Abdullahi, also known as Zabo, is an 18-year-old from Abdulsalam Quarters. He was found in possession of a sharp iron weapon believed to be used for stabbing and robbing victims.
Abdullahi had been on the police’s wanted list due to his involvement in several suspected homicides and had evaded capture for an extended period.
Authorities reported that Abdullahi is a gang leader associated with notorious figures Musa Kaura, Kaule, and Gaiye, who have been terrorizing the neighborhoods of Angwan-Daji, Limawa, New Market, and Maitumbi.
Following his arrest, he was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Minna, where he is currently assisting with ongoing investigations aimed at apprehending other gang members. Once the investigation concludes, he is expected to face charges in court.
In a related development, the Anti-Thuggery Command Unit conducted a sting operation in the Barkin-Sale area, leading to the arrest of four additional suspects found with dangerous weapons, including three sharp knives, scissors, and suspected cannabis.
All arrested individuals are under investigation as authorities continue to combat criminal activities in the state.
