Tragic: Senior Lecturer at PAAU Dies During Alleged Encounter with Student.

A senior lecturer at Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Kogi, Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, has passed away under shocking circumstances while allegedly involved in a sexual affair with a female student.
The incident reportedly unfolded on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at a hotel in Anyigba and was later reported to the police by the hotel manager.
Kogi Police Command Spokesperson, SP William Aya, confirmed that an autopsy has been conducted to determine the cause of death, describing the event as unfortunate.
Witness accounts indicate that Gloria Samuel, a 22-year-old 200-level student, rushed to the hotel reception after the lecturer collapsed following their encounter. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
An investigation is currently underway, and the student has been taken into custody for questioning. Ibikunle, who was married with children, had checked into the hotel with the student earlier that day. Unconfirmed reports suggest he may have consumed multiple energy drinks prior to the incident.
