The Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik, has expressed her commitment to supporting the newly elected leadership of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) in Niger State.

During a courtesy visit from the FIDA leadership, she emphasized the importance of protecting the rights of the girl child and combating gender-based violence.

Justice Abdulmalik highlighted FIDA’s pivotal role as a non-governmental and professional organization dedicated to raising awareness and providing education on domestic violence and other related issues.

She reiterated her readiness to collaborate with FIDA in their efforts to advocate for women and the girl child in Niger State.

In her remarks, Justice Abdulmalik conveyed her gratitude for the visit and assured the FIDA leadership that her office will continue to support their initiatives aimed at promoting the rights of women and girls.

She congratulated the newly elected executives of the Niger State Chapter of FIDA and encouraged them to engage all association members in their activities to foster progress.

The Chief Judge urged the new FIDA leadership to remain vocal in their opposition to gender-based violence and to utilize legal avenues to ensure that offenders face appropriate consequences under the law.

Earlier, the Niger State Chairperson of FIDA, Barrister Bolanle Jibogun, commended Justice Abdulmalik for her transformative contributions to the Niger State Judiciary over her tenure.

She articulated FIDA’s need for support regarding their state activities and outlined plans for a sensitization campaign focused on the dangers of gender-related violence.

Barrister Jibogun also informed the Chief Judge about upcoming national programs hosted by the Niger State chapter of FIDA and sought her blessings and support for these initiatives.

She assured Justice Abdulmalik of FIDA’s dedication to creating awareness and empowering women and girls to raise their voices against violence within their communities.
