Barrack Zone Community urged to Promote Unity, Peace and Community Development.

By Yahaya Zakka Minna.

During the End of Year Reflection and Community Bonding ceremony held at Al Rayan School in Minna, members of the Barrack Zone in the Brighter Community received an important message about fostering neighborly relations.

Captain Hassan Mohammed Baro (rtd), the Patron of the Community, emphasized the significance of peaceful coexistence and unity among residents.

In his address, Captain Baro urged community members to regard their neighbors as family, regardless of religious or ethnic differences, asserting that unity is essential for development and mutual understanding.

“I encourage everyone to cultivate the habit of checking in on your neighbors, exchanging greetings, and sharing pleasantries, as this promotes healthy relationships within our community,” he noted.

He also highlighted the importance of being familiar with one’s neighbors and staying informed about new arrivals in the area, explaining that this knowledge can help mitigate the influx of negative elements into the community.

Engr. Umar Haliru, the Chairman of the Barrack Zone Community, praised the contributions of members towards improving social amenities in the area.

He appealed to the Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago to connect all streets in the Barracks Zone Community to the bi-water tank at Himma Road, the water supply currently stops at the junction and does not extend into the community.

He also appeal for an additional transformer, as the one currently serving the community is heavily overloaded.

He further requested for the construction of road network in the Barracks Zone Community, Brighter similar to what has been done in other parts of the Brighter Area.

Additionally, he called on philanthropists to assist with the drilling of boreholes and the establishment of essential services such as clinics and public schools, to alleviate the burdens faced by families whose children must travel long distances to access education.

The ceremony also honored several community members who were presented with plaques in recognition of their contributions and exemplary leadership within the community.
