Navy Intercepts Boat Carrying 100,000 Liters of Stolen Crude Oil in Ondo
The Nigerian Navy’s Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Igbokoda has intercepted a boat transporting approximately 100,000 liters of stolen crude oil at the Idiogba-Mahin coastline in the Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
During an assessment visit to the site on Thursday, the Commanding Officer of the base, Capt. Aliyu Usman, shared details of the operation with journalists. He explained that the naval team acted on credible intelligence and quickly deployed its Quick Response Team.
The team managed to intercept a large wooden boat loaded with stolen crude oil, as well as equipment commonly used in bunkering activities, including discharge hoses and pumping machines.
Capt. Usman noted, “The perpetrators fled upon seeing the Naval team, but the intercepted boat has been secured.”
