CCN Niger State Urges Churches to Demonstrate Love and Unity – Ven. Tsado

By Samson Alfa, Minna

Christians in the country have been encouraged to embody the teachings and lifestyle of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is illustrated as the Prince of Peace.

Rev. Daniel Ude of the Presbyterian Church Minna expressed this message during a sermon titled “Jesus, the Prince of Peace” at a Christmas Carol organized by the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) held at St. Andrews Anglican Church, Sabongari, Minna, yesterday.

Rev. Ude, who is also the Secretary of the CCN Niger State Chapter, focused his sermon on passages from the books of Corinthians and Philippians. He reminded Christians that while heaven and earth may pass away, the word of God will endure. He spoke about the destiny of grace, joy, and prosperity ordained by God and questioned those who strive for what is not ordained.

“As children of God, we should surrender ourselves to the Prince of Peace by offering ourselves in service to Him, and our heart’s desires will be fulfilled. When you embrace the Prince of Peace, you have nothing to fear,” he stated.

In his closing remarks, the Chairman of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) Niger State, Venerable Daniel Tsado, expressed appreciation to all the denominational churches that participated in this year’s Christmas Carol. However, he lamented the inability of some churches to pay their dues and urged Christians to exemplify the spirit of love and unity demonstrated by Jesus Christ to all people.

The event featured songs of praise performed by the choirs of St. Andrews Anglican Church, including “Angels from the Realms of Glory” and “Silent Night, Holy Night,” which resonated well with the congregation. Clergy members, including Pastor Emmanuel Zhirin and Rev. Audu Bawa, also read various chapters from the scriptures to commemorate this year’s Christmas Carol.
