Gov. Bago Begins Construction of 55km Gulu-Evuti-Lambata Roads

Governor Umaru Bago has awarded and commenced work on the construction of the first ever 55km Gulu-Evuti-Lambata Road under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).

The Governor’s Special Adviser on Digital Media and Strategy Abdullberqy Usman Ebbo on his Social Media X handle said for decades, the residents of Lapai Local Government Area have endured the deplorable state of the Gulu-Evuti-Lambata (along the Muye axis) road..

Usman Ebbo added that farmers over the years have suffered huge losses, with millions of naira worth of produce wasted annually due to the poor state of the road before the intervention of a compassionate leader.

He maintained that the people of the Azza Community in the Lapai local government area of Niger state particularly farmers and frequent road users, have faced untold hardships where many are forced to leave their vehicles in Lapai when traveling to Azza by boarding commercial vehicles to avoid damaging their cars.

The Special Adviser however emphasized that the commencement of this road project brings renewed hope for a better future for several communities within the area economically and socially.

Ebbo stressed that the journey along this 55km road should take less than an hour, but road users along the route often spend 3-4 hours during the dry season and even longer time during the rainy season.

He noted that the project is part of the Rural Development Agenda of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago’s administration which will be a double-coat surface dressing to ensure durability and easy access.
