How third party interference crashes marriage – Gov Bago

By Mohammed Baba Busu

Gov Mohammed Umaru-Bago of Niger has appealed to couples to always embrace peace, unity and avoid third party interference, for their marriage to be successful.

Bago made the call at a high society wedding of a couple, Maryam Jamila Jibrin and Abdulkadir Ibrahim-Gana at the weekend in Garakuwa Nupe residents in Bida.

The event featured the Islamic wedding fatiha of children of two highly placed Nupe traditional title holders, Alhaji Isa Jibrin, the Garkuwan Nupe and Gen Mohammed Ibrahim-Gana, Danmagayakin Nupe.

Gov. Umaru-Bago, who was represented by Rep. Saidu Musa Abdul (SMA), also urged the couple to embrace effective communication mechanism, love, tolerance and patient with one another for a peaceful matrimonial life.

According to the governor, couples should always endeavour to resolve their internal crisis amicably, rather than inviting external interventions.

The governor said that this was necessary for the success of any marriage, insisting that “no marriage is crisis free”.

“As it is with the nature of human beings, there will always be crisis and misunderstandings when ever people are having any form of interactions.

This is more pronounced in longer or life-long relationship like marriages.

However, the only difference is how misunderstandings are resolved; so husbands and wives should know how to solve their differences by themselves and not by involving anybody.”

He congratulated the couple for their new- found relationship, saying that marriage was a mixture of bitter and sweet life.

Gov. Bago also urged Niger citizens to massively go back to farm with a view to producing more food.

This, according to Bago, such a bold move is the only panacea to lingering food insecurity in the country, saying that by going back to the farm, people can feed themselves and other Nigerians.

He explained that his administration was being making efforts in providing necessary farm inputs and tools, to ensure food security in the state and the country at large.

“Apart from providing food production, agriculture also provides employment opportunities, generates revenue and improves the standard of living of citizens,

“That is why, I have prioritised and will continue to give attention to the agriculture and other sectors of the economy”, Gov. Bago averred
