Farmer Bago cautions corp members against cybercrime, other social vices

By Our Correspondent.

Niger governor farmer Umaru Mohammed Bago has advised corp members against indulging in cybercrime and other acts capable of destroying their lives and the honour of their homes.

Bago gave the advice during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ stream one orientation course in Paikoro Local Government Area.

According to him, the youths are the greatest asset of any nation, hence the need for them to live exemplary lives.

He maintained that the NYSC scheme has been a veritable platform for harnessing collective energies and creative abilities of graduate youth towards the attainment of national cohesion and development.

He lauded the corp members for their resilience in the last three weeks and urged them to replicate the lessons learnt during the orientation course.

Speaking earlier, the state coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs Abdulwahab Alidat, enjoined the corp members to perform their duties with due diligence and be guided by the provisions of the NYSC and Bye-laws as well as workplace ethics.

Alidat also charged them to undertake personal and group community development projects that will help to uplift the living standards of their host communities.

She cautioned the corp members against staying out late, night parties, unauthorized journeys and night trips and accepting car rides from strangers.

The state coordinator appealed to corp employers to always accept corp members posted to them and make necessary provision for their welfare.
