By : Yahaya Zakka Minna
Niger State government has expressed unwavering commitment to full mechanised agriculture to change the narrative of Agriculture in the state.

He said the state government is poised to fully mechanise agriculture with tractors which according to him are already on the ground.

“I am proud to inform you that the State Government is committed to Full Mechanized Agriculture with tractors already on the ground, reconstruction of the Minna Airport to airlift specifically tomatoes straight to Dubai Airport as part of a bilateral agreement with the country.
That a new Niger is emerging is an understatement as a wholistic approach is being undertaken to address multi faceted problems on multi fronts” He said.

Earlier, the Chairman Inter-party Advisory Council, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Maikujeri while commending the present administration under the leadership of Farmer Governor Umar Mohammed Bago for his pragmatic approach to governance, said the current economic hardship was not peculiar to Niger State or Nigeria but a global challenge that must be tackled by all and sundry.
The Chairman advised the Federal government to as a matter of urgency reactivate machineries for the rehabilitation of the nation’s refineries adding that the dollarization of our economy has contributed significantly to the fall in value of the Naira.

Alhaji Maikujeri called on the state government to look into the activities of hoaders in the state who goes about hoarding food stuff for their selfish interest thereby creating self imposed scarcity.
He appealed to the state government to immediately embark on the payment of gratuity to senior citizens and the refund of the 7.5% to eligible affected civil servants as earlier approved by Farmer Governor of Niger State.
