Nigeria Army tasked to address Contemporary Security challenges – COAS.
The Chief of Army Staff Lt General TA Lagbaja said his command philosophy is to transform the Nigeria Army into a well trained, equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving the constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment.
The Chief of Army Staff stated this while declaring open a three day Doctrine and Training conference 2024,tittle “enhancing Operational effectiveness in a joint environment through Tailor-made training”, holding at Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command Minna.
Lt General Lagbaja who was represented at the occasion by the Chief of Training (Army) , Major General Sani Gambo Mohammed, stated that the Nigeria Army is required to train, plan and execute operations in line with it’s extant Doctrine 22 which is codified as proactive responsive Doctrine.
He tasked all participants to ensure effective application of the Nigeria Army Doctrine and to participate actively in the conference which according to him is designed to enhance their approaches to training and operational engagements.
Earlier in his welcome address, Major General KO Aligbe, the Commander TRADOC , stated it has become necessary for the Nigeria Army to work with other government security agencies as well as non governmental stakeholders to secure the country for prosperity to thrive.
He said the Nigeria Army would be operating largely as a joint task force while retaining the readiness to do the same under a multi national force within a regional or global arrangement.
According to him, the theme of the conference was carefully selected with emphasis on jointness in line with the Chief of Army staff’s command philosophy which is to transform Nigeria Army into a well trained, equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving our constitutional responsibilities.
He then expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for his personal and institutional encouragement and support to TRADOC since his assumption of office.
