Fed. Govt. told to Name Minna International Airport after IBB – Says Tafidan NUPE.

Federal government has again been asked to rename the MINNA international Airport after the former Nigeria president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Bababgida due to his immense contribution to the state.
A one time Ambassador to Chad republic,who is also Tafidan NUPE, Amb Yahaya Danjuma Ndagi Faruk,stated this in a press conference held yesterday at IBBU guest house in MINNA.
He pointed out that the renaming of the Minna international airport should be now that Nigeria is having a listening president Bola Ahmed Tinubu just like that of Katstina and Jos after Muhammadu Buhari and General Yakubu Gowon respectively.
According to Ambassador Yahaya Danjuma, the name of a literary writer/publisher, Abubakar Imam should be expunged from the MINNA international Airport as he is not known in the circle of Infrastructural development.
“The federal government should rather name National library after the writer/publisher, Abubakar Imam which best suits his literary efforts like also Late Abubakar Gimba and Yahaya S. Dangana.”
Former president Bababgida has contributed immensely to the development of the country and Niger state in particular,his achivements spread around the country which witnessed massive projects across atlantic ocean.
Tafidan NUPE said such projects include the third mainland bridge in Lagos second longest bridge in Africa and movement of the Nation’s federal capital to Abuja, adding the impact of such initiative can not be over emphasize.
“Also in Minna the home state of former president Bababgida,ensured that MINNA the state capital is free from perennial floodings that yearly washed away many residential thereby caused loos of lives and properties.”
Tafidan NUPE however appreciates the gesture of former president who piloted the affairs of the country successfully have no doubt brought succour to the people of Bida town by constructing solid drainages within the city.
