SENATOR SANI MUSA TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION OF IBBUL ICEel PERMANENT SITE AT PAIKO

SENATOR SANI MUSA TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION OF IBBUL ICEel PERMANENT SITE AT PAIKO

The Distinguished Senator representing Niger East, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa is to commence the first phase of construction at the permanent site of the Institute of Continuous Education and e-learning (ICEel) of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai as the Management handed over the site to the  Contractor.

In a brief ceremony which took place in the Vice Chancellor’s office before going to site, the Project Coordinator of  the Senator, Hamza Baba Mustapha disclosed that the project would be in phases and  would begin with the construction of Administrative block and a Lecture Theatre.

He pointed out that the project would be executed at the cost of Four Hundred Million Naira, after which they would move to the  second phase according to specifications.

He appealed to the University Management to handle the construction of the gatehouse and fence, stressing that his office would work hand-in-hand with the contractor to ensure that a good job was  executed.

Speaking, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu expressed delight for the good news of fulfilment of pledge by the distinguished Senator  Musa; observing that the project would  undoubtedly enhance human capital development of the State and Paiko town in particular.

He appreciated the human capital development efforts of the Distinguished Senator, especially for sponsoring indigent students on scholarship, adding that the Senator has really distinguished himself as a man of honour for keeping to his promise to develop the site.

Professor Adamu, however, advised the contractor to maintain standard and quality which the University always cherished.

For the gatehouse and fence, the Vice Chancellor said the University Management will consider the option of shouldering the responsibility based on the bill of quantity and available resources at its disposal.

He thanked the Senator Musa for the laudable project and maintained that the University Management would enter into more discussions with him on the naming of the project, given his track record.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Hartcore Engineering Services, Alhaji Kabiru Sarki Bello disclosed that the project would take four months to be completed, stressing further that work will begin immediately as soon as the site is handed over.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of Hartcore Engineering Services, Dr. Allen Hart Emeka described the handing over of site as remarkable and appreciated the Senator for coming to the rescue of the project.

He said the project when completed would increase the internally generated revenue of the University, with lot of business opportunities for Paiko community.

Dr. Allen maintained that the company does not compromise standard and  quality, as every details in the drawing would be accommodated.

In their separate contributions, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Professor Mohammed Aliyu Paiko; Bursar, Mohammed Alfa Daniyan; and the Director of the Institute, Dr. Nuhu Ango described the project as a big intervention by an individual, and expressed gratitude to the Senator for the taking the bull by the horns.

In a vote of thanks, the Registrar, Alhaji Idris Saleh Kusherki said the handing over of the project site marks the beginning of a  robust relationship the financier.
