Bagudu approved N895m scholarship for 27,039 Indiginous students at tertiary institutions

Kebbi State Governor Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has approved the sum of N895,000,000.00 for the payment of 2021/2022 scholarship.
The payment which was made for the Kebbi State indigenes students study at the various tertiary institutions across the country.
Addressing journalists yesterday, the Acting permanent sercertary , Ministry of Higher Education Alhaji Abdulmumin Abdullahi said that the aimed is for the students to pay for there registration fees and ensure that they continue with their education.
‘the number of the beneficiaries are 27,039 while all of them are the state indigenes studying within 36 tertiary institutions across the country” he said.
The Acting Permanent Secretary, who recalled that, last year, the Governor also approved the sum of N907,153,602.00 for the payment of 2019/2020 session registration fees.
“On September 22, 2022, Governor Bagudu had graciously approved the sum of $349,150 US dollars to cover second year tuition, accommodation, feeding and modest pocket money for 116 state sponsored students studying within three notable universities in India” Abdullahi said.
“This is in addition to N4.605 million to cater for logistics and transportation of sponsored students transfered from Global University in India” Abdulmumun added.
He further explained that, on November 17, 2022, the Governor also granted an approval of N120.1 million to cover change of institution for Kebbi state sponsored MBBS training from Sudan to Egypt.
The Ag. Permanent Secretary enjoined all students to reciprocate the gesture by taking their studies more serious in order to become useful members in the society.
While commending the Governor for the gesture, Abdulmumun Abdullahi prayed that Almighty Allah continue to guide, guard and protect him throughout his reign in office and all future endeavours.
Also Speaking the Executive Secretary of the State Scholarship Board, Alhaji Sanusi Garba thank the Governor for supporting the students and educational sectors at large, urge the students to be committed to their studies at the Government his welling to support them.
