Kogi State to Host High-Profile Political Figures as APC Welcomes Decampees

Kogi State will host Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Gushwe Yilwatda, along with other party officials, on Monday, November 17, 2025.
The visit, announced by Asiwaju Ashiru Idris, Director of Mobilisation for the Tinubu/Ododo 2027 Continuity Support Group and Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, aims to formally welcome prominent personalities transitioning to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the statement, former Kogi State Governor Captain Idris Ichala Wada and Chief Sam Ranti Abenemi, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, will be among those received alongside their supporters.
They will be joined by numerous party members and women representatives from the state’s three Senatorial Districts.
The list of decampees also includes Mohammed D. Mohay of MS Square Group, Abdullahi Shehu Dansebe, Mr. Samuel James, Yahaya Ijowa, Mohammed Rukayat, Maaji Abubakar Ahmed, Shatu Suleiman, Chief Dada Adeyanju, Umar Aminat, and others.
The statement urged all party members across Kogi to extend a warm welcome to the decampees, emphasizing that the APC remains committed to inclusivity.
The event is scheduled to hold at the Mohammed Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja, starting at 10:00 a.m., with a call for punctuality from all attendees.
