Oba Ladoja Urges President Tinubu to Approve Ibadan State Before 2027.

In a significant appeal, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has urged President Bola Tinubu to endorse the formation of Ibadan State prior to the 2027 elections.
The request was made during his address to the community following the ceremonial presentation of the Staff of Office by Governor Seyi Makinde.
Speaking in Yoruba, Oba Ladoja emphasized that the demand for Ibadan State is a top priority for the residents of the area, reflecting their persistent aspirations for greater autonomy and recognition.
Governor Makinde, who hailed the occasion as a proud moment for the people of Ibadan, underscored the importance of the coronation ceremony in honoring the city’s cultural heritage.
He expressed, “It is a great honor to celebrate the coronation and official presentation of the Staff of Office to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adewolu Ladoja. The joy and excitement across Ibadan today highlight the importance of upholding our heritage.”
The call for a new state comes as a renewed push from local leaders seeking to elevate the status of Ibadan and ensure its needs and aspirations are adequately represented on a national scale.
