Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has officially inaugurated a 5-kilometer township road in Sarkin Pawa, located in the Munya Local Government Area of Niger State. This project is part of a broader initiative that includes the construction of 556 kilometers of roads under the Bago administration.
During the inauguration ceremony, Governor Bago emphasized that the completion of the road exemplifies his administration’s steadfast commitment to enhancing
infrastructure throughout the state.
He assured the residents of Munya that further benefits of democracy are forthcoming and urged them to vote en masse for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the upcoming State Assembly by-election scheduled for this Saturday.
Bago also acknowledged the current relative peace in the area, attributing it to the collaborative efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, and various security agencies. Their joint initiatives have significantly improved the security situation, which had previously hindered socio-economic activities in the region.
In addition, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, who represents the Niger East Senatorial District, commended the governor’s efforts, highlighting that the road project aligns with his vision for the region.
He expressed optimism that the new road would enhance socio-economic activities in the predominantly agricultural community of Munya.
The Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, reinforced the administration’s commitment to improving the lives of the residents and called for sustained support for the APC’s initiatives within the state.
The project’s contractor and lead consultant confirmed that the construction was completed according to specifications and expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve the community. They assured that the new road will benefit both the current residents and future generations.
In addition to the governor’s remarks, various dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Barr. Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, and the Emir of Minna, Alh. Umaru Faruk Bahago, conveyed their goodwill and support for the governor and his administration, commending the completion of the township road.
Further road projects are planned to be inaugurated in phases, continuing the governor’s commitment to infrastructural development in Niger State.
