Funeral Arrangements for Late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, Announced.
The late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, is set to be laid to rest on Friday, a report from the News Agency of Nigeria confirmed on Thursday.
The funeral service will take place at St. Peter’s Church, Aremo, Ibadan, and is expected to be attended by dignitaries, including Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
Chief Solomon Ayoade, Press Secretary to the Olubadan Palace, disclosed that a book presentation titled “How Not to Be a King” will also occur during the funeral reception at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
The book, which was originally intended to celebrate Oba Olakulehin’s 90th birthday and coronation anniversary, was postponed due to the monarch’s passing on July 7.
“This book highlights the life and times of Olakulehin, featuring personal reflections and testimonies from family members, friends, and associates, as well as contributions from members of the Olubadan Advisory Council,” Ayoade stated.
The late Olubadan was revered for his dedication to the unity and progress of Ibadanland. In the lead-up to the funeral, various commemorative activities are being held at his residence in Alalubosa GRA, Aleshiloye, and at the Central Palace in preparation for the solemn occasion.
