Niger State Ministry of Water Resources Partners with Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers

Information Officer

The Niger State Ministry of Water Resources and Dams Development is poised to partner with the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, Niger State Chapter, in a collaborative effort to enhance water quality and supply in the state.

During a recent courtesy visit by the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Akillu Musa Kuta, emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in the water sector.

He stated, “The purification of water is crucial, as it is a key component of human life.” Kuta reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to improving productivity and efficiency, aligning with the governor’s initiative to revamp the state’s water sector.

The Permanent Secretary also encouraged the engineering fraternity to develop a robust working plan aimed at enhancing effective and efficient water supply throughout Niger State.

Idris Mohammed Kutigi, Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, Niger State Chapter, highlighted the crucial role of water in human existence, advocating for necessary improvements within the sector.

Kutigi expressed concern over the rising costs of chemicals in the market and called for a focus on locally produced alternatives to support local engineers and reduce expenses.

The event was attended by members of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers and officials from various water management agencies, including the Managing Director of NISWASEC, NISTWASSA, and RUWATSAN, along with directors and staff from the Ministry of Water Resources and Dams Development.

This partnership signals a promising step towards addressing the water challenges faced by the state, with a collective commitment to ensuring access to clean and safe water for all residents.
