Kogi Youths Call Anti-Akpotu-Uduaghan Campaigners Enemies of Democracy.

From Our Correspondent.

Youths in Kogi Central have openly criticized the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, for his recent comments. They described his remarks as “offensive, bigoted, and disgusting.”

The youths expressed their disdain for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, stating that he is “a man who can’t stand on his own feet without crutches.” They believe that Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Ododo, and Yahaya Adoza Bello have no chance of success at the grassroots level in Kogi Central.

In a statement issued in Okene, the Kogi Central Youth Forum, led by Chairman Alhaji Abubakar Jato, advised Fanwo to curb his tendency for spreading falsehoods against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

They emphasized that Kogi Central constituents encompass a diverse array of viewpoints and that Akpoti-Uduaghan’s recent homecoming demonstrates the Kogi Central people’s loyalty to true democratic values.

The statement criticized Fanwo for disseminating misguided messages to the public and insulting the principles of civilization, portraying him as a figure devoid of intelligence in a bureaucratic role. Jato noted, “Nothing is more important for a politician than to command the understanding and loyalty of the people.”

The youths described the Ododo administration as a model of poor governance and labeled Fanwo’s comments about Akpoti-Uduaghan as “distasteful and provocative.”

They urged APC leaders in Kogi State to embrace the tenets of civilization and democracy.

They praised Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan for her patriotism, leadership style, and personal charm. The youths stated, “The Senate President is not just a person; it is an institution. Senator Godswill Akpabio should not jeopardize this institution.”

They rejected the unfounded notion that Akpoti-Uduaghan’s presence was intended to incite conflict in the state. The youths concluded by asserting that the future of Nigeria, especially Kogi State, depends on politicians who prioritize serving the people over engaging in politics.

They urged the public to disregard Fanwo’s statements, highlighting Akpoti-Uduaghan’s simplicity, courage, and vibrant personality. “Our task is to prevent those behind Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension and recall from making reckless decisions.”
