Minimum wage : Gov. Bago directs full implementation using Fed Govt. template.

Niger State government has assured that it would use the federal government template to implement the N80,000 new minimum wage.
Chairman,Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC),Niger State Chapter,Comrade Idris Abdulkareem Lafene disclosed this to newsmen shortly after he attended a prayer session organized by the NLC,held at NAMMINA’S Mosque , opposite Federal Secretariat,Minna,on Saturday,3rd November,2024.
Comrade Abdulkareem Lafene highlighted that governor Umaru Bago had earlier directed the state government team negotiating with NLC to come up with acceptable proposal using the federal government minimum wage template.
Lafene lauded Bago for his magnanimity, adding that discussions between NLC and government officials have already reached the highest level.
“We have reached almost the concluding part of discussion with government team, saying by Monday or Tuesday,the final agreement will be sign between NLC and state government”. Lafene assured.
The NLC boss reiterated that the labour will continue to strengthen the synergy between it and the administration of governor Mohammed Umaru Bago aimed at achieving the desired objectives, while reacting to the new salary table been circulated on the social media, Comrade Lafene advised workers to distance themselves from it, pointing out that is fake.
He added”As I told you,we have harmonize our position with the state government,the difference is very minor, recalled that the table used previously for the implementation of N30,000 minimum wage was prepared by government,they didn’t follow the federal government template, however,the table is faulty,that it’s why every worker is crying,the table didn’t signify the N30,000 at all” NLC Chair insists.
According to him,we thanked Allah for given us a governor with foresight,a governor that is willing to transform the state to next level developmentally,we pray to Allah to continue to support the governor to enable him finish what he has started across the state.
He also revealed that NLC organized the prayers to seek for Allah intervention on the security challenges that have bedeviling the state, adding that the prayer was also to seek for Allah intervention on whoever that would want to cause problem on the implementation of new minimum wage.
Comrade Idris Abdulkareem Lafene urged the workers to be patient and continue to support the labour movement in the state.
