Nationwide Protest: shelves your plan, Hon Yabagi implore Youths
Commissioner of science and Technology Hon Umar Yabagi has enjoined Nigerlites and Nigerians in general to distant themselves from the scheduled protest for August 1.
Speaking at the meeting with stakeholders of katcha local government in minna, Hon Umar Yabagi acknowledge that Democracy guarantees freedom of expression but remindes the Nigerian youth that considering the prevailing circumstances regarding the planned protest, they should not allow themselves to act capable of resulting in chaos.
He pointed out that the protest which intends to express their feelings regarding the harsh economic situation could be hijacked by unscrupulous elements, resulting in undesirable outcomes.
The former Assembly Member further reminded youths that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is barely one year and has initiated policies aimed at addressing the economy, he therefore appealed to them to reconsider the plan in the interest of the generality of the people.
“If someone has come and within a period of one year has taken critical decisions that his predecessors could not take, I think it is in our interest to give peace a chance and allow these decisions to really bear the desired fruits”, Yabagi appealed.
He also appeal to the political stakeholders in
katcha local government to preach unity and the need to embrace peace to shun anybody who wants to lure youths into the streets protest.
The commissioner stressed that, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has demonstrated the commitment of his administration in bringing about the new Niger and deserved the cooperation of all Nigerlites to support him realize the Niger agenda of his dream.
He reiterated that government is bringing about massive infrastructural development in the state with accompanying peace and unity and so requires the contributions of all to achieve set goals .
According to him in this administration of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, there will be more positive outcomes in the future of Niger state.
In his words,Hoodlums can hijack a peaceful protest and turn it into a bloody one creating a lot of havoc and destruction of public assets.
“I want to appeal to youths not to participate in the protest because governments at all levels are working hard to implement policies that would give lasting solutions to some of problems.
Niger state Commissioner for science and has called on the people of katcha local government to live in peace, unity and tolerance. He was speaking at a meeting with stakeholders of katcha local government.
The commissioner advised youths and people of katcha to be their brothers keeper by promoting the spirit forgiveness amongst one another.
He reiterated that the government is trying all its possible best to stabilise the economy and growth of the country, as he call on the youths to be prayerful for the government demanding they join hands together and strive to foster empathy and understanding, together in their pursuit of hope and peace within their communities, irrespective of religion.
Yabagi prayed that katcha would be of great blessing to the people of the area and a centre of peace, unity, and piety. He tasked religious leaders to always strive to promote peace and tranquility among the compatriots.
He further call on the people of katcha to dedicate their lives so that “God will dwell in them” adding that “God desires that they first dedicate themselves so that he will take control of their lives.” the commissioner thereby declared no protest in katcha local government area of Niger state.
