Gov. Bago addressing infrastural deficit in Niger – says Chairman, New Niger Dev Project

The Chairman, New Niger Development Project (NNDP), Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar Bida, says Gov. Umar Bago of Niger State is addressing the deficit of development that the state is facing over five decades.
He told the Nigeria Daily Post in Minna on Sunday that Bago’s effort is to positively improve on the standard of living of the people of the state.
Abubakar Bida who is also the Sarkin Dawaki Nupe noted that the administration of Bago has embarking on 1000km roads network across the state.
“This is to boost agriculture, the revenue base and the socio-economic activities of our people,” he said.
He appreciated governor for establishing the office of New Niger Development Project in order to ensure speedy development across the state.
“New Niger Development Project is a structure that was actually created to coordinate new Niger agenda.
“All the projects of His Excellency, Gov. Umar Bago, are tagged New Niger”, explaining that the whole idea is to do things differently to achieve results.
“We want to depart from the past. We want to see that within the shortest possible time, we impact positively on the lives of our people,” the NNDP chairman said.
He added that the administration has adopted a different approach of handling projects for the overall development of the state.
“When you put the right infrastructure, it will give you right development.
“One of the major deficiencies in infrastructure is the road network.
“The state government is embarking on 1000km road network to boost the socio-economic activities of the people of the state,” he emphasised.
The chairman expressed optimism that the massive construction of road network would woo more investors to the state.
He therefore called on the people of the state to continue to give their maximum support to Bago to succeed in delivering democracy dividends.
