Niger politicians have shown sportsmanship- Hon. Nma Kolo.
The Niger State Government has commended politicians in the State for their peaceful conduct in the pursuit of their political aspiration.
The government which said the conduct cuts across party lines also noted that the politicians remained tolerant and played politics with the right spirit of sportsmanship.
The Special Adviser to the governor on Politics and Strategy Alhaji Mohammed Nma Kolo made this known when he spoke with journalists in Minna where he lauded the political stakeholders in the State.
He posited that the less cases in various courts recorded as the aftermath of the last general election showed that the politicians in the state are not desperate for power but playing politics for the progress of the state.
The political stalwart drawing comparisons from what happened across the states of the federation after the last election, noted that Niger state recorded less strifes as a result of the elections thus the less cases in the courts.
“For instance in Niger state none of the governorship candidates went to court after the election , it showed that they are committed to support the person chosen by the people, that is a great development” he declared.
Alhaji Nma Kolo reiterated that in Niger state politics is refined and politicians understand the rules of engagement which is; accept the outcome as the will of the people and support those elected to lead the state to the promise land.
He said based on the confidence repose elected leaders in the state, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has not left any stone unturned in his New Niger Agenda to take the state to the hillcrest of prosperity.
The Special Adviser said “So far the Governor has demonstrated that he is the popular choice of the people acceptable to all stakeholders, by vigorously pursuing development of the state through New Niger Agenda ”
He therefore urged all political stakeholders in the state to continue to support the state government led by Governor Bago to transform the state to make the dream of every well meaning Nigerlite come to fruition.
The Special Adviser said the support of the people is needed in all facets and promised that the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will continue to work assiduously for a better future for the state and country at large.
He also promised that political engagements will continue to be encouraged to bring everyone on board for a robust participatory government as enunciated always by the Governor.
